Yields: 1 Cup
1 cup raw almonds
2 cups water
1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup (optional)
1-2 dates (optional)
Pinch of sea salt (optional)
1Select 1 cup of raw almonds.
2Soak in water overnight (12-24 hours).
3Drain water and dry.
4Roast in oven on low for 20 minutes.
5Add to food processor or blender.
6Blend until smooth or desired consistency.
Jazz up your butter with these fun additonal ingredients: a pinch of sea salt, 1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup, or 1-2 dates.
A note on peanut butter...peanuts and peanut butter contain alfa-toxin which is a mold that can wreak havoc on the body.
