Feel like planning your day or week is overwhelming – let alone an entire month or year?

Today, you’ll learn 3 simple steps to efficiently plan your month ahead. These easy steps will give you time, joy, and freedom to do other things that fill you up while you stick to your monthly goals and knock them outta the park!

To prepare, you’ll need:

  • A FAB Planner, journal, or pen and paper
  • Pens (sparkly or gel are my favs)
  • Timer (set for 10 minutes)
  • A quiet space (think distraction-free zone – no kids/pets/dings or beeps)

Keep reading and watching below.

Part I: Monthly Review: 3-Minute Timer

Give yourself three minutes on the timer to write down and answer these three questions.

  • What lessons or main lesson did you learn this month?
  • What went well this month and what did you accomplish?
  • What do you want to focus on in the month ahead?

Giving yourself time to review the past month will help you see what you want to focus on moving forward in the month ahead.

Step 2: Wonderstorming: 5-Minute Timer

The next step that you want to take is to set the timer for five minutes to do a monthly mind map, or what I call “wonderstorming.”

Circle, highlight or star one to three areas of your life that you want to focus on for the month ahead.Write down one to three goals that you have for the month ahead under each category.

Example:
Lifestyle Category: Financial
Goal #1: Pay off your credit card by the 15th of the month.
Goal #2: Put $100 into savings by the 21st of the month.

Total Minutes: 8 Minutes

Now that you have reviewed your month for three minutes and you have started to create some goals for the month ahead, the last step will be to zoom out and look at your month from a 30,000-foot view.

Step 3: Month-at-a-Glance: 2-Minute Timer
This is your “Month-at-a-Glance.” Set the timer for two minutes for this. This gives you a holistic view of everything that’s happening for the month.

Here’s a simple list of items you can place on your month-at-a-glance calendar:

  • Birthdays
  • Anniversaries
  • Standing meetings
  • Doctor Appointments
  • Days off at work
  • Days off at school,if you have kids or you’re a teacher
  • Date nights
  • Bill due date
  • Target goal dates

There’s plenty of different things that you can plan for to really help guide you, including your bigger monthly goals, and your daily goals as well.

There you have it. A quick 3-step system to Plan Your Month Ridiculously Fast – in only 10 minutes.

I encourage you to take action now! Set your timer, plan your month ridiculously fast.
